Something New...

Something new came home with us from Target this morning...

All day long Ben was talking about his "unduhpants" and was running around the house in them! Of course he is just getting used to them over his diaper at this point and we're not pushing anything, just trying to see what happens. He has been telling us when he is about to go to the bathroom lately and this week I found him naked in his room a few times because his diaper was wet and he did not like it.

Prior to today, however, he had a fear of his potty and would not even sit on it. After spending the day talking up how "big boys" use the potty and wear underpants, Ben spent about a half hour tonight sitting on his potty and opening and closing the lid. So, it's a step in the right direction! We'll see what happens and if he develops further interest we'll begin to really potty train. If not, we'll give it some more time. I just couldn't resist taking some photos of him in his little boxers!

There's Always One!

With more than one child, there is always one who is not in the mood to take photos when you are trying to get them to pose together. Today it was Ben who wanted nothing to do with "saying cheese," while Nate was all about posing for the camera. My attempts came out funny, though, so I am posting them nonetheless.

Here's Nathaniel, happy, coy and smiley. He has graduated from laying in his Boppy to using it as a support to practice sitting up. What a big boy! He actually loves to sit up supported these days and will try to sit himself up if I lay him down on the floor or in a bouncy seat.

Excuse the large saliva mark on his shirt. He has been drooling like a faucet lately so it was either put a bib on him, change his clothes just for a few random photos or put up with a wet collar. I lazily chose the latter!

Now... here is my attempted photo shoot of both boys. As you can see, Nate was happy to take photos while Ben kept moving out of the frame and ruining my pictures. Plus, being the toddler he is, he was all about ruining the photos on purpose once he realized that he had the power to refuse to sit still. BENJAMIN THOMAS!

Alright, I got one of the two of them with Barney. Of course now that Ben is smiling, Nate is getting tired and will not look up at me! Barney is happy to be the center of attention, though. :)

Cheese! At least Barney will pose for me when told to :).

13 Weeks Old

Nathaniel is 13 weeks old tomorrow so I took a few tummy shots a day early. Look at the head control on this guy! He loves to hang out on his tummy for long periods of time and constantly tries to pull himself to a sitting position when he is laying down or on your lap (not there quite yet, but trying hard!).

Acting Silly

Acting goofy in Daddy's shoes...
...and in Nathaniel's chair!

Twelve Weeks Old

Just a few videos I took this morning to celebrate Nathaniel turning twelve weeks old today! Of course, the big "cheese" Ben is also part of them. Enjoy!

Late Afternoon Walk

It was a beautiful day today so we all decided to take a late afternoon walk through our development and at the same time we attempted to teach Ben to ride his tricycle alone.
Nate is ready for a walk in the sun.

Teaching a two year old to pedal is more difficult than it sounds. We made some progress but still have some work to do before Ben masters the concept. With the parent handle on his trike, I think he prefers to be pushed instead of doing the work himself. Hopefully soon he'll be riding solo. He's such a busybody that it would probably work some of his energy off!
"Right foot, left foot..."

Trying it out on his own...but not going too far just yet.

Back to being pushed for now.

Stopping off at the gazebo to watch the ducks, fish, and frogs in the pond.

Nate's chilling out in his shades while we wait for his dad and brother to finish up at the gazebo.

The Boys

After such a busy week traveling and having guests, we had a relaxing time at home this weekend. Here are a few candid photos of "the boys" that I took.
Naptime:
Barney never wants to miss any of the action at home but he always takes advantage of a chance to nap as well. Lazy dog! :)
Playtime (aka when the big brother Ben is up from his nap...there's no chance of resting in his presence!):
