Today was Gymboree day again so of course the camera was busy taking pictures during our class! We focused on tummy play today and everyone was impressed with Ben's muscle strength in his neck. At 6-1/2 weeks, he held his own against the other four 3-5 month olds in the class!
Here's a picture of Ben and one of his girlfriends from the class, Julia. She's 4-1/2 months old and is so sweet. Ben was trying to "hold hands" with her the whole time...his latest development is grabbing anything that crosses his path!
Here he is looking at himself in the mirror and tracking the large colored balls that we roll around for them. He's been tracking objects for the past week or so and seemed much more interested in the tummy time balls than he has been in other weeks.
He stayed on his tummy with his head held up for close to 10 minutes this week and received lots of praise from his teacher! Even when his neck needed a break, he put it on his blanket bumper and still enjoyed watching the other babies and toys. This week is the first time that Ben lasted for practically the entire hour long class without getting too fussy or overstimulated (now his temperament after class when I tried to run a few errands is another story! :))
Mini Andrew, hair and all!
Finally, one photo of Ben during his favorite part of the class, the singing routine with the Gymbo puppets. He really is mesmerized by them...and even seemed to smile for the camera as he lay next to his favorite puppet.
