New Jersey Shore Trip

We went to the NJ shore this past weekend with our good friends the Saunders and then also visited Andrew's dad and Cheri for part of the long weekend. Here are some photos from our trip:

Four-month-old Nate with five-month-old Jonathan. Jonathan seems intrigued by Nate's hair since he's not used to having any!

Jonathan's smiling....but not Nate...

...and now Nate is the only one smiling!
Happy and content...

Ben and Elaina playing in the sand and wading with the two daddies. Elaina is 3-1/2, approximately 15 months older than Ben.

Drying off...
It was a little windy on the beach so Nate and Jonathan had no qualms with snuggling up to their moms. Two little mama's boys...

Second half of the trip at Grandpa G and CC's house:

Yummy, dinnertime has become a highlight for Mr. Nate. He loves his cereal!

Ah, freshly bathed and getting ready for bed!

Peek-a-boo!

We are yet to get a decent family photo of the four of us. It's seriously hard work to get an infant and a toddler to cooperate at the same time. We'll keep trying, but this was what we got...

Playing outside with Grandpa G. Ben collected an entire basketful of pinecones (one of his new favorite words!) and had fun playing with them with his trucks.

A sunset over the water, nothing like it...

We went for a ride on the boat the next day. This time Ben really enjoyed it (once we got past the lifejacket struggle). He seemed entranced by the water and now knows lots of nautical words, such as buoy, ancor, seagull. Ha, maybe he's a future captain...

Playing with water and sand back at the house, our two-year-old's favorites.

He's got his basket of pinecones again!

And out comes the hose! Yes, Ben is being as naughty as he appears in these photos and is spraying everyone with water (while laughing mischievously!).

Yum, being allowed to eat like a complete caveman at his grandparents' house and loving the thought of being messy!

Grandpa G with Nate....

Before leaving we had dinner at Red's Lobster Point restaurant, which is right on the water near the fishing dock so that you can enjoy seeing the boats come and go as you eat. They have very fresh seafood and (of course) lobster is their specialty.

Ben LOVED watching the ships.

Shipwatching is a very serious sport, at least for these two!
Dinner! Ben tried his first corn on the cob (soon to proclaim, "No more cob!" so we had to cut it off for him) and enjoyed playing with the lobster shells.
