Abby's New View of the World

Abigail is quickly becoming more alert and aware of her surroundings whenever she is up and having her wake time. So lately, we have been encouraging her to start to sit up, roll over and learn to grasp objects and notice things, several usual milestones for a baby her age. The activity mat, Boppy and Exersaucer have been really useful in encouraging these skills and she really does seem to enjoy her new view of the world when she's using these. However, we're also working on extending her attention span since usually her time is interrupted by a sudden flurry of interest in whatever she is doing by her brothers!

Here's our little pink monkey in her new sitting up position, thanks to the Boppy that has been propped up about 60 degrees on the back of the couch. She actually does really well with this so I may take out the BebePod seat soon, too.

And here, she is taking her first stab at the Exersaucer play center. What to do? what to do? She's never had so many toys at her disposal before, on top of having to try to keep herself from slumping over. This thing is a huge "brother magnet." Overstimulation is usually imminent once I decide to put her in this :).

Nate thought that she should talk to "Daddy" on the "phone."

She's about half-way there with the back-to-front roll when she's on her activity mat, so she'll maybe do this entirely over the next month or so. We'll see...
