First Mother's Day

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day and what a perfect day it turned out to be! Benjamin gave his gifts to me on Saturday evening and then slept for 5-1/2 hours Saturday night as a special gift for his mom :). Yesterday morning we dressed him in the cutest khaki pants with a button down shirt and matching khaki sneakers to celebrate the day. Here I am with my cute little man on Mother's Day morning:

And here's a family photo with Andrew. Ok, I admit that we coordinated our outfits with the light blue stripes in the baby's shirt just for this picture!!

Later that morning, we went to Wyckoff to celebrate the day with my mom and were also joined for a few hours by my dear friend from high school Aliza, her husband Todd and her adorable six-month-old Zachary. We had never met each other's babies and what fun we had introducing the boys! Zachary is at the age where he is fascinated by other babies so he loved little Benjamin. At eight weeks old, Benjamin was still a bit oblivious to the meeting, but Aliza and I had such fun taking photos together with the boys regardless. It's hard to believe that the same eleven year old girls who met in George Washington Elementary School, started a women's book club in high school, were asked to not participate in a concert choir field trip due to our excessive classtime conversation (we're still convinced it's not because of our voices!) and shared a mutual crush on our 9th grade biology teacher are now mothers of our own! Here are some photos of Aliza and me with Zachary and Benjamin:

Benjamin and Zachary have the same Tiny Love play gym, so Zachary felt perfectly at home on Benjamin's yesterday and was rolling all over the place to show how happy he was while Benjamin looked on. Here are the boys together. How cute are they!?

Finally, my mom always enjoys seeing the baby and was glad to be able to spend her first "Grandmother's Day" with Benjamin. He's becoming quite the photogenic little guy and seemed to know that the camera was on him!
